Electrical Compliance
Electrical compliance services ensure your systems meet all necessary safety standards and regulations, for businesses across Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex.
These services include thorough inspections, testing, certification and ongoing maintenance to guarantee that electrical installations are safe and operational. By adhering to regulatory requirements, we help prevent hazards such as electrical fires, equipment malfunctions and shocks.
Our expert, NAPIT-accredited team keeps your electrical systems fully compliant, reliable and up to date with the latest industry standards — protecting both people and property.
What are fixed wire testing and PAT?
We carry out fixed wire testing (the commercial EICR) on your distribution boards, circuits and fixed installation, plus portable appliance testing (PAT) on the equipment your team plugs in every day. Together they give you documented proof that your electrical estate is safe and meets BS 7671. We schedule testing out of hours where needed so production lines, shops and offices keep running, and certificates are issued promptly with any observations clearly explained in plain English.
What are your legal duties as a business?
Under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, employers and those in control of premises have a legal duty to keep electrical systems safe and maintained. Regular inspection and testing is how you demonstrate you have met that duty — and it is exactly what insurers and auditors expect to see.
What happens when testing finds a fault?
Finding a fault is only useful if it gets fixed. Where testing flags an issue, our NAPIT-accredited team carries out the remedial work and re-certifies, then keeps you on schedule for future inspections so compliance never lapses. One partner handles testing, repair and record-keeping end to end.
FAQ
Electrical Compliance — frequently asked questions
How often does commercial wiring need testing?
Fixed wire testing (a commercial EICR) is typically required every five years, or sooner on change of occupancy or use. Portable appliance testing frequency is risk-based depending on the equipment and environment. We will advise the right schedule for your premises.
Is electrical testing a legal requirement for businesses?
Yes. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 place a legal duty on employers and those in control of premises to keep electrical systems safe and maintained. Regular inspection and testing is how that duty is demonstrated.
What happens if something fails the inspection?
We identify the issue, carry out the remedial works and re-certify so your installation is brought back into compliance — all handled by one accredited team with full documentation.
