JFD Midhurst Limited (trading as 'JFD' or 'JFD Facilities And Construction') is the controller and responsible for your personal data (referred to as 'JFD', 'we', 'us' or 'our' in this privacy policy). We have appointed a data protection officer (DPO) who is responsible for overseeing questions in relation to this policy. If you have any questions, including any requests to exercise your legal rights, please contact us using the details in the 'Contact details' section below.

The personal data we collect about you

Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped as follows:

  • Identity Data — first name, last name, any previous names, username or similar identifier.
  • Contact Data — billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers.
  • Financial Data — bank account and payment card details.
  • Transaction Data — details about payments and services you have purchased from us.
  • Technical Data — IP address, login data, browser type and version, time zone and location, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.
  • Profile Data — your preferences, feedback and survey responses.
  • Usage Data — information about how you interact with and use our website and services.
  • Marketing and Communications Data — your preferences in receiving marketing from us and your communication preferences.

We also collect, use and share aggregated data such as statistical or demographic data, which is not personal data as it does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity.

How your personal data is collected

You may give us your personal data by filling in online forms or by corresponding with us by post, phone, email or otherwise — for example when you enquire about our services, subscribe to our service, request marketing, or give us feedback. As you interact with our website, we may automatically collect Technical Data using cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookies Policy). We may also receive personal data from third parties such as analytics providers, and from publicly available sources such as Companies House and the Electoral Register based inside the UK.

How we use your personal data

The law requires us to have a legal basis for collecting and using your personal data. We rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interests (provided your rights do not override them); compliance with a legal obligation; and, where required, your consent.

We will use your personal data to register you as a new customer; to process and deliver your order, including managing payments and collecting money owed; to manage our relationship with you; to administer and protect our business and website; to deliver relevant website content; and, where you have not opted out, to send you relevant marketing communications.

Marketing

You will receive marketing communications from us if you have requested information or purchased services and have not opted out. You can ask us to stop sending marketing communications at any time by following the opt-out links in any marketing message or by contacting us. We will obtain your express consent before sharing your personal data with any third party for their own direct marketing.

Disclosures of your personal data

We may share your personal data with third parties where necessary to provide our services. We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes.

International transfers

We do not transfer your personal data outside the UK.

Data security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. We limit access to those who have a business need to know, and we have procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach.

Data retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. By law we have to keep basic information about our customers for six years after they cease being customers for tax purposes.

Your legal rights

Under data protection laws you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data.
  • Request correction of your personal data.
  • Request erasure of your personal data.
  • Object to processing of your personal data.
  • Request restriction of processing of your personal data.
  • Request the transfer of your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.

You will not usually have to pay a fee to exercise your rights. We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

Contact details

If you have any questions about this privacy policy or wish to exercise your privacy rights, please contact our DPO by email at lucy.gray@thfholdings.com, or by post at JFD Midhurst Limited, 1 McMillan Close, Low Fell, Gateshead, NE9 5BF.

Complaints

You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk). We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the ICO, so please contact us in the first instance.
