The brief
Lower Lodge Candles needed a tired, unloved retail unit reborn as a destination shop — bright, inviting and on-brand — and they needed it done to a tight deadline and a fixed budget. As a client for whom JFD already handles maintenance and security, the trust to deliver a full shop renovation was already in place.
The challenge
Retail fit-outs are unforgiving on time and cost: every day the shutters are down is lost trade, so the work had to be planned and executed to a firm deadline without overrunning the budget. Breathing life into an unloved space also meant making the most of what was already there rather than stripping it back and starting over.
