The brief
Our client loved their location but had outgrown the house, and faced the familiar dilemma: move, or make what they had work harder. They chose to invest in their home rather than the upheaval and cost of moving, asking JFD to deliver a substantial extension and a top-to-bottom renovation that would add space without compromising on finish.
The challenge
A project on this scale is really several projects at once — structural extension, full services overhaul and a high-end interior finish — all to be delivered over twelve months while keeping the build watertight, on programme and to a standard worthy of a forever home. Coordinating that many trades in the right order, without compromise, was where careful project management earned its keep.
Our approach
A single JFD project lead ran the job from breaking ground onwards. We took the property back to a sound shell, carried out a full electrical rewire and complete replumb, then entirely replastered throughout — sequencing each trade so the structure, services and finishes built cleanly on one another. The new extension added 1,800 square feet of light, well-proportioned living space integrated seamlessly with the original home.
The result
The finished property is a genuine showstopper — 1,800 square feet larger, fully modernised and finished to an exacting standard, delivered on time and handed over to a delighted client who would, in their words, use us again in a heartbeat.
